Metal Spraying

Many thermal spray coatings are unique in that they are for special applications such as metal build-up to enhance the part’s performance or an aesthetic value to increase a visual effect of metal on non-metallic surfaces.

Utilizing Oxygen/Fuel for the Thermal Spray Coating requirement, metallic materials are applied to provide metallic characteristics, that when machined or brush finished, exhibit a shiny metal finish. These coatings may show a low or high luster for a great appearance.

Additionally, many Thermal Spray Wire materials can be flame sprayed for coatings and surface treatment. Zinc and Aluminum provide excellent salt air protection. Silver and tin make for outstanding electronic connections, while molybdenum and nickel can restore and enhance high-speed shaft diameters.

It includes the coating processes of Flame Spray, Plasma Arc Spray, and Twin Wire Arc Spray using a form of metal material. For example: we can apply a thin aluminum coating to headers and engine brackets for corrosion protection and heat dissipation we call “cool coatings”.
Other examples of metal coating are:

• Hard facing on metal stamp tooling for sheet metal forming
• Corrosion coating for ore extraction in mining processes
• Creation/formation of injection mold tooling

DESCRIPTION OF THERMAL SPRAY / METALIZATION PROCESSES

Metalizing is any form of our thermal spray processes. It’s meaning is to “apply a metal coating”. It includes the coating processes of Flame Spray, Plasma Arc Spray, High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) Spray, Cold Spray and Twin Wire Arc Spray using a form of metal material. For example: we can apply a thin aluminum coating to headers and engine brackets for corrosion protection and heat dissipation we call “cool coatings”. Many other applications provide an enhancement and appearance of many products.
